The font could perhaps be a little bigger though to add to readability. You are making a very clear argument here, but I would like to see a bit more comment here on why you think Piers Morgan expresses his opinion the way that he does on this issue, and relate some of those explanatory factors to our study of media and politics (as some of your group members point out as well). What kind of program does he host? What is his role like in the press? Why might that matter for the kind of perspectives he offers and how he treats his guests? I think that will allow you to go beyond just this specific case to say something about media and politics in the U.S. that is significant for our study of this topic.jenniferhopper86https://www.blogger.com/profile/02020012616794650474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7598153085714703059.post-12269496032073180492013-02-22T13:55:11.073-05:002013-02-22T13:55:11.073-05:00This blog kept me interested the duration of the p...This blog kept me interested the duration of the post! I do think Piers Morgan's professionalism is lacking and he definitely tries to control every conversation, but I actually appreciate his passion on his viewpoints. I may also be biased cause I 100% agree with Morgan in that first video (I'm currently at work so I haven't watched the explicit ones yet..). I agree with Aubrey in that I would love to see more of the political side. In this blog I think it would be very interesting for you to evaluate how Morgan's program and others like it affect the actual politics they're discussing. Because they're more like celebrities, does this allow them to have more control over the political sphere or less because people see them as "obnoxious bullies" and lack trust for Morgan's viewpoints?Emma Wayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10780876062674008027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7598153085714703059.post-7448065307369544452013-02-18T13:22:51.506-05:002013-02-18T13:22:51.506-05:00I really enjoyed reading your blog and your insigh...I really enjoyed reading your blog and your insight into this issue. The Pierce Morgan video is effective for the point you are making about this "celebrity journalist" and his shortcomings professionally. I do feel like this post leans a little too much on the political side of things, rather than an equal balance of the media side of things also. In order to effectively link this back to class discussions, maybe the big question of this post should not be "What will it take for American gov. to put aside partisan beliefs in the name of national safety..." but maybe it should be a question as to why celebrity journalists, such as Morgan, react in such a way that they do not listen to other opinions and what this means for news content via their specific outlet. What does this imply about the type of news attractive to viewers, etc.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03200636200890478627noreply@blogger.com
